NewZNew (SAS Nagar) : SAS Nagar being the main entrance for the state of Punjab will be beautified by Quark City which is located at industrial area along with cooperation of GMADA & Municipal Corporation. This was stated by Deputy Commissioner Sh. Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was presiding over a meeting with officials of Quark City, GMADA, Municipal Corporation, PSIC & other officers of technical institutions, at district administrative complex.
During this, Sh. Sidhu directed the GMADA and MC officials to prepare a special plan wherein beautification works to be kept on priority and also directed to conduct a joint survey along with representatives of Quark city so that a said that the work in this regard could be started at the earliest. Deputy Commissioner said that in the first phase road approaching from Chandigarh from Furniture Market to Lakhnaur should be taken up, so that beautification work on its surroundings could be done on first priority. During this he said that Quark City has shown his interest for the beautification works. He said that during second phase renovation of remaining roads & various locations under industrial area will be taken up.
During this Sh. Rajesh Sharma, Umesh Vashisht & Taniya Chandal from Quark City in presence of Deputy Commissioner, said that besides beautification works, Quark City will also start some social activities in slum areas to elevate their living. Representatives said that Quark City is a renowned company which will provide various programs for providing technical & professional education to the young generation so that they could get jobs according to their skills & education. They informed that technical education to 200 persons will be provided in first phase so that they could become able to get the requisite job. Quark representatives said that for priority of providing technical education will be given to the students who are already getting education of vocational courses in schools. Then after the training to youngsters studying in various Govt. technical institutions, will be given.
During the meeting additional Deputy Commissioner Smt. Poonamdeep Kaur, SDM Sh. Lakhmeer Singh, Distt. Education Officer (Secondary) Sh. Mewa Singh Sidhu, Sh. Varyam Singh LDM, Sh. Narinder Dalam Xen Municipal Corporation, Sub-divisional Engineer GMADA Naveen Kotaj, Sub-Divisional Engineer PSIC Sh. Naresh Chandar Lang, Distt. Vocational Coordinator Sh. Dheeraj Kumar, Govt. Polytechnic Khunimajra Smt. Kamaldeep Kaur, Govt. ITI Mohali Sh. Shamsher Singh & other representatives were present.
