NewZNew (Mumbai) : Shahid Kapoor surprised one and all in Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Kaminey’, a film that helped the dashing actor redefine his presence in the Hindi film world. And the super-hit Jodi is back with ‘Haider’, yet another adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play.
The hunk of an actor appeared in a double role and did what only a few from the young brigade could do. Shahid is back to rock the big screen after a series of not so impressive films. And if you have watched the trailer of the film, you will know why!
Bhardawaj loves adapting Shakespeare’s works and this time it is ‘Hamlet’. The ace filmmaker has mastered the art of adapting plays on celluloid. After ‘Omkara’ (Othello) and ‘Maqbool’ (Macbeth), Bharadwaj is ready with ‘Hamlet’ and super-talented actor Shahid on board to play the title role. The director has delivered both critically acclaimed and commercially successful cinema and it would be interesting to see how ‘Haider’ performs.
The star cast of the film is worth a wolf whistle. When names such as Tabu, Kay Kay Menon and Irrfan are on board besides Shahid and Shraddha Kapoor, you know, the film wouldn’t fall short of your expectations.
‘Haider’ explores Kashmir and its various facets. After long, Bollywood would get to see a film with Kashmir as its backdrop.
Bharadwaj is not only appreciated for his direction but his music too has ardent lovers. And when there is Bharadwaj, how can veteran lyricist Gulzar not be there. The super-hit musical Jodi is back together. The songs have a traditional Kashmiri touch and are refreshing. Music has always been an attraction in Bharadwaj’s films, and ‘Haider’ is no different.
