NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : To provide better vehicular traffic flow in the district, Govt. of Punjab has issued a grant of Rs. 5 crore 52 lacs 2 thousand for the repair & renovation works of rural link roads in the S.A.S Nagar Constituency. This was stated by Bibi Amanjot Kaur Ramuwalia, Chairperson District Planning Committee while addressing a meeting at district administrative complex with the officials of PWD and Mandi board. Elaborating this, Bibi Ramuwalia said that an amount of Rs. 4 crore 42 lacs 54 thousand will be spent for city has renovation of 110.27 Kilometer rural link roads, whereas Rs. 1 crore 9 lacs 48 thousand will be spent for special repair works of 28.79 Kilometer rural link roads. During this she directed the officials to get the work done in stipulated time and said that the surprise visits to check the progress shall be conducted by her in person.

Bibi Ramuwalia said that Govt. of Punjab has issued this grant especially for the repair & renovation of rural link roads. She said that SAD + BJP Govt. have spent Rs. 500 crore on various development works in the city and in future development works sufficient funds will be made available.

She added that Mohali city is being developed as a sports hub. With the construction of new International Level Sports Stadium & Golf Club ‘n Academy, the city has got a new identity. Besides this, the 7 new multipurpose stadiums have also been established in the city, which proved bliss for the sports lovers. She added that sports nurturing inspires the children from the childhood to be in discipline & also refrain them from drugs. She said that Govt. of Punjab has specially emphasized on sports. As such, sports kits have been provided in all the schools in the district. During this Sh. Gursewak Singh Executive Engineer PWD, SDO Sh. Jaspreet Singh Dhindsa, Sh. Harveer Singh & other officials were present.
