Satish Kumar Arora is the new TiE Chandigarh President: The 21st Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of TiE Chandigarh was held at Hyatt Regency, Chandigarh. Satish Kumar Arora (Co-Founder, AppSmartz) was announced as the new President of TiE Chandigarh. The event was attended by  250+ entrepreneurs including 70+ women entrepreneurs.

An engaging session featuring Kapish Mehra (Managing Director, Rupa Publications) with moderator Manraj Grewal (Resident Editor, The Indian Express Chandigarh) gave insight into the publishing world and demand for new-age content formats. Mr. Rakesh Verma (Director, STPI Mohali) along with 8 past Presidents of TiE Chandigarh gave away the awards during the Annual Awards ceremony.

The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) is a not-for-profit global body founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region. TiE Chandigarh is the sole chapter beyond Delhi NCR, with strong roots in Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir.

TiE Chandigarh is a Not-for-Profit organization run by Entrepreneurs for budding entrepreneurs & startups. It is the only organization in the region fostering entrepreneurship across industries. It runs various programs for School students and Universities across the region. Recently, a 6th-class student of a school from Ludhiana presented TiE Chandigarh at the TYE Global event in Hyderabad.

He said there has been a 12 percent increase in TiE Chandigarh membership, which now stands at 400 plus members. He informed, 63 TiE Chandigarh events were held in the last year. He also spoke about the cross-border initiatives and women programs organised by TiE Chandigarh.

The new President, Satish Kumar Arora (Co-Founder, AppSmartz), spoke on the occasion about the origin of TiE and thanked the team for its support.  While elaborating on this vision for the Year 2024-25, he listed out a few proposals, such as strengthening the TiE Secretariat team, extending partnerships & collaborations at the regional & state level, enhancing TYE (TiE Young Entrepreneurs) program for Schools, TiE U for Universities across the region & nearing states, TiE Women program, International business & networking delegations, Skill based workshops for Startups, Angel Investment programs, Funding, Nurture program to grow the startups of the region.

Ritika Singh (Founder, Kontent Factory), TiE Chandigarh General Secretary, also spoke on the occasion and welcomed the TiE presidents from other chapters, including, Bhavin S Bhagat (President TiE Ahmedabad, Gujarat), Gaurav Kumar (President, TiE SoCal, California, USA), and Jatin Trivedi (Ex-President, TiE Ahmedabad, Gujarat).

The new Governing Council (GC) for 2024-25 was also announced. The members include Harit Mohan, Partap Krishan Aggarwal, Brahm Alreja, Amulya Shukla, Puneet Verma, Vishal Kedia, Advait Upadhyay, Shaira Kansal, Atul Pathria, Deepanshu Thakral, Kamaldeep Singh and Sandeep Kapil.

A scintillating performance by Armaan Bedil enthralled the audience, and the event concluded with pulsating music and dance.
