NewZNew (Chandigarh) : State Science Seminar- 2015 was held in State Council of Educational Research and Training, UT Chandigarh. The Topic for the seminar was ‘Harnessing Light: Possibilities & Challenges’. Students from Govt. as well as private schools of UT Chandigarh participated in the Seminar. The Preliminary selection was done on 11.08.205, 12.08.2015 and 13.08.2015 through a written test followed by a presentation on the aforesaid topic. They were assessed on context in presentation, fluency in speech supporting visuals/slides/charts.
Top ten students selected from the preliminary rounds participated in the final round today. Parnav Aggarwal of St. Kabir Public School, Sector 26, Chandigarh was declared winner of the State Science Seminar 2015. He will participate in the National Science Seminar to be held in National Science Centre, Delhi on 8th October 2015.
On this occasion Mrs. Sarita Shreedhar, Co-ordinator the seminar said that the seminar is an annual feature of SCERT and is organized every year in collaboration with National Council of Science Museums, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India to inculcate a spirit of inquiry and analytical thinking in the minds of young students. She gave away the prizes to the winners.
