The app will provide options of geo selfie attendance online and access to research papers
In a pioneering move, Himachal based Shoolini University today launched the My Shoolini App at its Solan campus here today. In a significant step towards digitalisation, the University has brought attendances, bus locations, assignments, timetables, fee payment, learning management system etc. on one platform.
The app was launched by Shoolini University Vice Chancellor Professor PK Khosla, Pro-Chancellor Satish Anand, Pro Vice Chancellor Atul Khosla, trustees Vishal Anand and Ashish Khosla. The faculty and staff of the university attended the launch.
The android version of the app, which has been developed jointly by the faculty and former students of the university, is available for download at Google Play Store and the university website. The iOS version will be available for download September 1 onwards. The application has integrated multiple university resources on a single user-friendly platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof PK Khosla, V-C, said, “The app has launched the university towards becoming completely digital. With all the features in place, the students and staff who download the app, will have access to all the university services and features through a single window interface”.
The interesting feature, the university being research oriented has introduced a My knowledge-hub in the app as well which includes thesis of the students.
Geo Selfie:
A GPS enabled attendance system for staff for marking their attendance online by clicking a selfie in the university campus.
eUniv (Shoolini’s Learning Management System):
Students can view their online courses and assignments by just logging into the app. No separate login is required.
Online Registration:
The students will now be able to register themselves through this app from anywhere in the world.
GPS enabled bus-tracking system:
A feature especially designed for the students, will enable them to track all the university buses and plan their journey accordingly.
Customized notification:
A network of notifications has been customized to the user level. The notification feature prompts the user of daily lectures and timings, return of library books, attendance etc.
Other features include options for teachers to upload attendances online. Staff members can put their leave applications online. Students will be informed of their low attendances and reminded of completing it by time.
