NewZNew (Patiala) : Students of Engineering Wing, Punjabi University, Patiala participated in the National Entrepreneurship Challenge and have taken upon the task of promoting entrepreneurship within their university. They organised various events for this endeavour of theirs, notably, Business Quiz, Pitching Event, B-plan competitions, session on entrepreneurship, photography competition with a theme spirit of entrepreneurship and many more. Their major intention was to enhance the entrepreneurial spirit and environment among the students. Till Stage-3, these students had secured 1st position in the “NATIONAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP CHALLENGE (NEC)” being organised by IIT BOMBAY.
And they were also awarded with the title of “E-Cell of the Month”.
The challenge is mainly focused on developing the entrepreneurial spirit of students, which is instrumental for our country to develop. NEC is a channel to demystify the shroud of alienism that surrounds innovation, which is the brainchild of E-Cell, aims to actualise the dream of a truly entrepreneurial and developing society. The challenge includes all the colleges spread across India, and helps the participating colleges to discover that they are capable of so much more. It intends to make the think tank of tomorrow meet the investors of today and at the same time helps interested students to develop an E-cell with in their college or university through a series of tasks. The tasks are grouped into four stages spread over four months. At the end of fourth stage, top ten teams will get a chance to compete at IIT Bombay.
Engineering Wing, Punjabi University team participated for the first time in this competition and they were most efficient in doing all the tasks till Stage-3 and they have therefore secured the first position in their maiden attempt. The team members are notably, Aditya Kaushish, Rishabh Nanda, Sahil Gupta, Ashish Vatsa, Rahul, Raghav Garg, Vishal Gupta, Puneet Jindal and Shivam Dhir. All of them are 3rd year students pursuing B.Tech in Punjabi University, Patiala. This team got great motivation and support by the University authorities notably, Mr. Prabhleen Singh (Administrative Officer) and Dr. Sahib Sartaj Singh Dhaliwal (Official Advisor). Even an Entrepreneurship Cell had been established in the college under the guidance of Dr. Sahib Sartaj Singh Dhaliwal (Official Advisor).
