‘Summer Funk’ A Mega Summer Dance Showcase for dance lovers held


NewZNew (Chandigarh) : An action packed ‘Make your Move, Summer Funk’ Dance show was held as a grand finale for young dancers. The event which was a mélange of dance & music was organized by tri-city’s Rockstar Academy & 200 students performed in front of the audience that mainly comprised of parents. Students of Rockstar Academy’s 18 branches in tricity, Kharar, Ambala & students from some tricity schools presented dances in the genres of solo, duet and group. The Chief Gu

est was Mr. Jagdeep Singh (IAS), Director (Sports), Haryana. Members of the team of Punjabi flick ‘25 Kille’ too attended the event.

“The dancers through their performances, showcased an array of dance genres like Western, Hip Hop, Belly Dance, Bhangra , Free Style, Bollywood , Contemporary, Classical, Indian & pure Classical. We organize such events to give a platform to students to show their dancing abilities. The idea is to increase their confidence & reduce stage fright.” Said Mr. Sameer Mahajan, Founder of Rockstar Academy of Dance, Music & Modeling.

Rockstar students set the stage on fire with their dancing prowess. Students of schools like Cuddles School, The British School, Mohali, GGSVM, Ratwara Sahib, put up applaud able dances.  These school students had been trained at Summer Camps conducted by Rockstar Academy.

Fusion of Western & Bhangra, Bollywood & Hip Hop, Belly dance mesmerized the audience.  The high decibel & lively Bhangra performances ignited the audience also to shake a leg, an Indian Cum Classical performance on the popular Deewani-Mastani song saw the audience watching in awe. Medleys too were quite captivating.

A Prize distribution was held after the event. It was an evening with a full dose of dance & music; that saw young dancers attired in very apt dresses, giving splendid dance presentations, under different genres of dance forms. The event presented a pretty picture of parents who were filled with pride by watching their children perfrom well- coordinated dance steps, in front of a full audience.
