What was meant to help him overcome his depression instead becomes a surreal journey that confronts a different side of himself, but only after he encounters the renowned French explorer Marion alive on the ocean floor. A release date is still pending, and filming is scheduled to start in August 2025.

3. Untitled Tom Cruise/SpaceX Project (TBA)

By leaving Earth to shoot the first-ever Hollywood film in space, Tom Cruise is poised to elevate his reputation as an action star. It was revealed in May 2020 that Cruise and Elon Musk’s Space X were collaborating with NASA on an action-adventure project. In addition to being launched into space with director Doug Liman, with whom Cruise has previously collaborated on “American Made” and “Edge of Tomorrow,”

However, he will also try to do a space walk outside of the International Space Station, living up to his reputation. Cruise will play a poor man who is the only one with the ability to save Earth in this film. Liman, P.J. van Sandwijk, and Christopher McQuarrie wrote the story, which was inspired by a concept that Cruise came up with. Scarlett Johansson and Cruise will co-star in Christopher McQuarrie’s action movie “The Gauntlet.” Detective Shockley, who has to take a witness to testify against a mobster, is at the heart of the story. After being betrayed by dishonest police officers, Shockley takes over a bus and fortifies it in an effort to get to the court while being chased by armed police. Clint Eastwood is the producer of the project, which is presently in the pre-production stage. There are no other details about the movie available.

6. Top Gun 3 (TBA)

The “Top Gun: Maverick” sequel from Paramount Pictures is currently in development. The project, tentatively titled “Top Gun 3,” is being written by Ehren Kruger, co-writer of “Top Gun: Maverick.” Along with Miles Teller as Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw and Glen Powell as Jake “Hangman” Seresin, Cruise will return to his role as Maverick. There are currently no additional details available for this movie.

7. Live Die Repeat and Repeat (TBA)

The upcoming science fiction film “Live Die Repeat and Repeat,” which is a follow-up to the 2014 film “Edge of Tomorrow,” is said to bring Tom Cruise and director Doug Liman back together. Liman will play Major William Cage again. Additionally, there are rumors that Emily Blunt will reprise her role as Rita. Discussions about a sequel have been rife ever since the popular original movie came out. But when Matthew Robinson was hired to write the script in 2019, it was finally put into motion.

A few years later, Emily Blunt said, “That was an amazing script, but I just don’t know what the future holds for it,” in an interview with Entertainment Weekly in May 2021.
