NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Sh. Ram Bilas Sharma, Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Haryana inaugurated the 25th Mango Mela at Pinjore Gardens on Saturday. Smt. Seema Trikha, Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Tourism & Hospitality, Haryana, Sh Gian Chand Gupta, MLA, Panchkula and Smt. Latika Sharma, M.L.A., Kalka also graced the occasion. Sh P Raghavendra Rao, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana, Tourism, Sh V S Kundu, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana, Agriculture and Sh S.P. Srow, Managing Director, Haryana Tourism.
Hon’ble Tourism Minister, Haryana interacted with the mango growers before a formal lamp lighting function. Sh P Raghavendra Rao, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Haryana, Tourism delivered the welcome speech. Sh Sharma also congratulated the Tourism department Haryana for successful organisation of the Mango Mela and further stated that there are plan to upgrade the Mango Mela to an international level from next year onwards.
Sh. Ram Bilas Sharma also announced that there sincere efforts were being made to improve the tourism infrastructure of the state that is endowed with varied landscape from Badkhal lake to Tikkar Taal, Morni. Also the airports in Vasola and Karnal will be developed so that more pilots can be trained for the aviation industry.
The evening cultural programme for the day was a mesmerising Sound, Sight & Light show on the life of Baba Banda Singh Bahadur commemorated to the 300th year of the great Sikh General that left the audience spellbound.
