NewZNew (Chandigarh) : This Christmas celebrations witnessed the slicing of one of the massive 251 long cake today at Exhibition Ground in Sector 34, Chandigarh. The event which was organized under the aegis of Winter Shopping Festival brought a tremendous response. The organizers, two years ago marked the same occasion and prepared 201 feet long cake and this time they broke their own record.
The maker of this cake – Polka Bakers has prepared it in 18 hours with the coordination of over 12 bakers. The cake is weight around 450 kgs which has the ingredients includes 150 kgs of Cream, 120 kgs Sugar, 120 kgs Maida, 3600 eggs, 5 kg Cherry, 5 kg Fruit Cocktails, 10 kg Pineapple slice and other forms of elements.
This ceremony also marked the beginning of ten day long Winter Shopping Festival which assured shopping, food and joy rides on a single platform. Special provision has been made for kids by staging Kids Carnival. Over 15 joy rides are installed for the recreation of people. A total of 70 stalls are showcasing the best of their products which includes electronics, engineering and automobiles, home furnishing, home décor, apparel, handicraft and handlooms, textiles, consumable and durables and other forms of products. The food plaza is serving authentic Amritsari Naan and other delicacies are tempting everyone
According to organizer, Mr. Sanjay Mittal and Suresh Kapila, the objective of this initiative was to encourage brotherhood among the masses. The Christmas is a global celebration which should not be confined to a particular religion or sect but also of the secular nation – India.
