The two-day workshops, jointly organized by the Department of Home Science and the Women’s Cell at Government College, Sector 1, Panchkula, concluded today with great enthusiasm and grace. These workshops were conducted under the able guidance and inspiring leadership of the college’s Principal, Dr. Shailja Chhabra. The program aimed to foster students’ creative potential, equip them with practical skills, and inspire them towards self-reliance..

Special workshops on “Nail Art” and “Color Craft” were organized as part of the program, in which students participated with great enthusiasm, curiosity, and dedication. In the “Nail Art” workshop, resource person Shivani Verma taught modern techniques, designing patterns, color combinations, and professional presentation. She also introduced the students to the opportunities available in the beauty and fashion industry.

As an expert in the “Color Craft” workshop, Dr. Latesh provided detailed information on the psychological effects of colors, creative combinations, the process of making handmade decorative items, and the possibilities of self-employment at the home level. The students themselves showcased their imagination and artistic vision by creating various artworks.

At the closing ceremony, an exhibition of attractive and creative artworks prepared by the students was held, which was highly appreciated by the teachers, students, and staff members present. The variety of colors, the novelty of the designs, and the beauty of the presentation were particular highlights of the exhibition. Many students also expressed their desire to adopt these skills as a form of self-employment in the future.

Home Science Department Head Dr. Vandita Sharma, Women’s Cell Incharge Prof. Kusum Rani, and their dedicated team played a significant role in the successful organization of the program. Their active participation and well-planned planning ensured the event was a complete success.

The college administration expressed confidence that such creative and skill-based activities will contribute to the students’ overall development. These programs not only strengthen the students’ self-confidence but also inspire them to become capable and self-reliant to face future challenges.

The college will continue to organize similar creative, educational, and personality-development activities in the future, so that students can have more opportunities to learn, create, and grow.
