United Sikhs supports farm protestors, helps a martyr’s family in Bathinda with milk dairy (Kulbir Kalsi): International social organisation of Sikh community – ‘United Sikhs’ has been providing financial aid to the needy farmers, who have suffered loss of life or property due to the ongoing farmers protest.

Assistance of Rs 50,000 each is being given to many victim families. Meanwhile, a noble initiative was taken by the NGO to donate a milk dairy business to a farmer family from Bathinda, whose son got martyred during the farm protest.

Three cows and three calves worth Rs 2 lakh have been presented to the family, to ensure a regular income by the milk business.

Talking to the press, Rupinder Singh, Head – Media, United Sikhs Punjab, said, ‘United Sikhs is ready to help all the farmer families who have lost their family members in the midst of the farm protests. On the martyrdom of Satpal Singh of Mirzyana village in Bathinda district, the institution has arranged a dairy business for the maintenance of his family. If Satpal’s son finds difficulty in studies, he will also be given financial support.’

Gurpreet Singh, Director, United Sikhs, said, “We have been supporting the needy farmers through our Fallen Farmers Fund. United Sikhs is committed to uplift the life of Sikhs everywhere in the world.”

Volunteers from Mohali unit of the organization – Gurmeet Singh, Baljeet Singh, Akshdeep Singh & Poonam. were also present on the occasion. It was told at the press conference that the United Sikhs organization is providing assistance to the farmers in every possible way. Not only this, the NGO is always ready for public service. Sikh families were helped at the time of the attack on a gurdwara in Afghanistan.Helped in immigration by making 400 people passports.

United Sikhs is an UN-affiliated, international non-profit, non-governmental, humanitarian relief, human development and advocacy organization, registered in 11 countries including USA, Canada, UK, Australia and India. In India, it is registered in Punjab under the Societies Registration Act. It has been conducting projects in order to transform, alleviate, educate and protect the lives of underprivileged, individuals and minority communities impacted by disasters, natural or man-made, suffering from hunger, illiteracy, diseases, or from violation of civil and human-rights by fostering sustainable programs regardless of color, race, religion or creed.

These projects are conducted under three main Directorates –

  1. CEED (Community Empowerment and Education Division): Under this, United Sikhs sponsors premium education to the under-privileged and various spiritual camps for empowerment of women and youth.
  2. Sikh Aid (Humanitarian Aid): Under this the NGO provides humanitarian aid during the time of disasters to the survivors.
  3. International Civil and Human Rights Advocacy: Through this, it protects and enforces civil and human rights of minorities and marginalized groups..
