Dairies to increase milk procurement rates by Rs 20per kg FAT
newznew (Chandigarh) : Verka, the flagship brand of the Punjab state owned cooperative MILKFED has increased the milk procurement rates w.e.f 1st March 2017. All Verka dairies viz Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar , Patiala, Ludhiana , Ropar, Sangrur to increase the milk procurement rates by Rs 20 Per kg FAT on pro-rata basis. Apart from being known for its best quality products, Vekra is known for its approach towards the farmers. Verka never forgets the soul behind the co-operative; the farmers.
It is a three tier structure which involves the farmers and almost 75% of the profit goes back to them. Since its inception, Verka has connected more than four lakh farmers across the state to a circle of about 7000 cooperative societies that give them the collective resources, technical inputs and necessary infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Amarjit Singh Sidhu Chairman, MILKFED said,” Verka always believes in giving the best procurement rates to the farmers. By giving them the best rates we ensure best quality milk which consequently results in best quality products for our consumers.
