– RS 20 CR CHEQUES DISBURSED TO PANCHAYATS FOR LAND ACQUIRED FOR NATIONAL HIGHWAY 15
– UNION MINISTER LISTENS TO PROBLEMS OF PEOPLE DURING SANGAT DARSHAN, DISTRIBUTES GRANTS WORTH LACS FOR DEVELOPMENT
NewZNew (Bathinda) : The Union Minister for Food Processing Mrs Harsimrat Kaur Badal today said that the NDA government’s last one year under Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has pulled out country from the quagmire of corruption. She said that the Congress government had saturated system with corruption wherein every Congress minister was embroiled in a scam. The Modi government cleaned off corruption giving much needed relief to the people of country.
The Union Minister said this while interacting with media persons on the sidelines of sangat darshan program held in different villages. She said that the government was committed to work for betterment of poor so that their standard of living could be improved.
While conducting sangat darshan at different villages today , she disbursed cheques of Rs 20 cr at village Harraipur as compensation awarded for land acquired for Bathinda-Amritsar four laning of NH 15. It is pertinent to mention here that cheques worth Rs 364 cr are being given as compensation for the land acquired for project of which Rs 197.3 cr have already been distributed under the Deputy Commissioner Bathinda Dr Basant Garg by SDM Bathinda-cum-land acquisition collector Mr Damanjit Singh Maan. The SDM has already distributed compensation to a large number of land owners.
For the land acquired for NH 15, the Union Minister today gave Rs 4.13 lacs to Bhokhra village panchayat, Rs 57.06 lacs have been given to panchayat of village Harraipur, Rs 43.41 lacs were given to Goniana Kalan panchayat, Rs 3.50 lacs were given to Goniana Khurd panchayat, Rs 12.55 lacs were given to Gill Patti panchayat and Rs 79.85 lacs were given to village Balahar Vinju panchayat. With this, the Bathinda has become front runner district of state in disbursing such huge amount of compensation smoothly.
Addressing a large gathering during sangat darshan, the Union Minister said that the NDA government has introduced many schemes for the upliftment of poor section of society and following this the Punjab government too is constantly providing benefits to poor through various schemes. She added that a committee of government officers will visit villages for pension schemes ensuring that no genuine beneficiary is left without requisite pension. She said that starting from June 1 onwards, the poor families will get ration of six months.
She added that while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was now using all tricks in book to hog the limelight and misleading the vulnerable public, he has shirked his responsibilities in last 10 years of Congress rule. She added that besides such paper tigers, Punjab has had seven ministers from state in the center, but none of them could contribute in state’s development, which reiterates the fact that Punjab was given step motherly treatment during Congress regime. On the occasion of martyrdom of Guru Arjan Dev Ji, she called upon the people of Punjab to follow his teachings.
The Union Minister said that works under MNREGA will begin soon and people will start getting work. She added that exposing its anti-poor policies the Congress had stopped sending funds for poor several months before elections, which had posed a challenge for the new government. But now the jinx has been resolved and very soon people will start getting work.
Besides this, the Union Minister listened to the problems of villagers at Gill Patti, Goniana Khurd, Harraipur, Mehma Sarkari, Kothe Lakhi Jungle, Balahar Mehma, Kothe Sandhwan and Kothe Lal Singh during sangat darshan program and disbursed grants worth lacs for various developmental works.
At village Gill Patti she inaugurated block of Government High School constructed at a cost of Rs 19.10 lacs. The area MLA Mr Darshan Singh Kotfatta, DC Dr Basant Garg, SSP Mr Kuldeep Singh Chahal, OSD to deputy CM Mr Manish Kumar and Mr Harinder Singh Sran, assistant media advisor Mr Harjinder Sidhu, district press secretary Dr Om Prakash Sharma and others were present.
