newznew (Chandigarh) : The students of the British School, Chandigarh participated in the School’s Annual Day “La Rejouissance” – World of Emotions-2016”. The event got off to a start on a pious note with a prayer dedicated to Sai Baba. Students showcased their immense talent by portraying different emotions like love, peace, joy, passion, courage, fear, devotion, laughter, surprise through different acts. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Sanjay Kumar(IAS), Principal Secretary, Government of Punjab.
“The Nine emotions or BHAVAS depicted by the students hold a universal value and are emoted by every individual. The message imparted through in these enactments was that though we humans differ from each other in a hundred different ways, yet we all share the same emotions and sentiments.” Said Mona Shri Sethi, Principal.
The tiny tots of tinker bells and foundation years 1, 2, 3 also shared the stage with the seniors. They looked resplendent in their lovely costumes singing and dancing merrily. The entire school came forward to take part in the annual day celebration with a feeling of togetherness.
The depiction of the love Bhava was carried out through the enactment of the divine love of Lord Krishna and Radha. Joy was portrayed through a brilliant performance of Bhangra by the senior students. The world of passion was portrayed by an array of performances by the students who acted out the roles of Helen Keller, A.P.J Abdul Kalam and Jeev Milkha Singh to perfection. This was taken forward by a series of outstanding performances depicting the other emotions. Courage or the Veer Bhava was shown through a performance by the students of classes 11 &12 who carried out the role of Indian soldiers portraying happiness, courage ,sadness all rolled into one.
The message that all emotions should be controlled by an individual was imparted wonderfully well. The event concluded with a grand finale that saw all students, the Principal & members of the Management coming on the stage.
