Although petrol and diesel prices are close to historic peaks, a brokerage has warned consumers that they should brace themselves for a hike of up to 4.6 per litre in next few days.

Since the prices were arrested during the Karnataka polls, the oil companies would have to offset that with a 6.2 % and 5.8 % hike in prices of petrol and diesel respectively.
