NewZNew (Panchkula) : More than 100 people participated in a ‘Walk for Heart’ organised on Sunday by Alchemist Hospital Pachkula on the eve of World Heart Day. The walk was flagged off by Panchkula deputy commissioner Mr Vivek Atray from Yavanika Park in Sector 5. Besides members of the general public, doctors, paramedical and other staff of the hospital participated in the walk.

Speaking on the occasion chief executive officer of the hospital, Dr Vinay Verma while reiterating the commitment of the hospital to ensuring high quality health services to the people of the region, said the theme of this year’s World Heart Day is ‘creating healthy heart environments’ and the ’Walk for Heart’ was an attempt by Alchemist Hospital Panchkula to popularise the healthy heart choices.

Giving simple everyday heart health tips, he said people can take the stairs instead of an elevator or escalator, they can park their vehicle at a distance from their destination and walk down, get down from a local bus one stop before destination, do household work, schedule an after-dinner walk and spend a few minutes of their lunch break by taking a stroll around their workplace.
