NewZNew (Chandigarh) : For the first time, India’s premier biennial agro-technology and business fair, CII Agro Tech 2016 will have participation from as many as 12 countries this year. The 12th edition of CII Agro Tech 2016 to be inaugurated by President Shri Pranab Mukherjee along with Israel President H.E. Mr Reuven Rivlin as the Guest of Honour will showcase state-of-the-art advancements in the farming technology for both businesses and visiting farmers.
The 12 countries which are participating in the fair include US, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, UK, China and South Africa. International participation is the major attraction with countries displaying latest technologies, products and services, new launches and live demonstrations of innovations happening in the industry.
Among the prominent experts to share their experiences in the industry include Agri-Tech specialist, Luis Mulet from UK who will be attending the fair and providing collaboration and partnering opportunities in the areas of Animal Science, Plant Science and Precision Agriculture. Among other key speakers include Mr Richard Klapholz, CEO, Rivulis Irrigation, Israel; Dr Shani Keysar, Founder & CEO, SolChip, Israel; Mr Ilay Engelhard, Founder & CEO, ATP Labs, Israel; Dr Mahender Singh, Former CEO & Rector MISI Non-Executive Director, eCEOs, Malaysia; and Mr Eyal Cohen, Managing Partner, Copia Agro & Food, Israel.
In addition to industry experts, many eminent speakers from academic and research institutions would also be addressing various sessions. The prominent international speakers who will be speaking at the CII Agro Tech 2016 are Dr Danny Chamovitz, Dean & Director George S. Wise Faculty of Life Sciences & Manna Center for Plant Biosciences, Tel Aviv University, Israel; Dr Jacob Mualem, Director General, Agriculture Research Organization/ Volcani Centre, Israel; Dr Yosi Shacham, Professor, Centre for Nano Science & tech, TAU; and Dr Ioanna Roussaki, National Technical University, Athens, Greece.
A special session on India-Canada partnership in Agriculture is a major highlight of the fair, which will be attended by Jeff Leal, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Province of Ontario, Canada.
UK, which has one of the most highly regarded agricultural technology sectors in the world, will be participating in CII Agro Tech 2016 for the first time.
This is one of its kind agricultural exhibition with a large domestic participation and significant international presence as well. The Partner Country this time is Israel, while Focus Countries are Canada & Germany while Guest Country is Great Britain. Exhibitors from the US, Denmark, Turkey, Israel, Spain, Italy, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, UK, China and South Africa will showcase the latest technology and state-of-the-art equipment and technology in the agriculture sector at the Fair. There will be a separate pavilions for them, where they will showcase their products including farm equipment, cattle feed, processed food and post-harvest technologies.
With Israel as the Partner Country, CII is happy to have Israel President H.E. Mr Reuven Rivlin as the guest of honour at the inauguration of CII Agro Tech 2016 on November 20. Agriculture in Israel is a highly developed industry. Israel is a major exporter of fresh produce and a world-leader in agricultural technologies despite the fact that the geography of Israel is not naturally conducive to agriculture.
Israel will showcase its unique drip irrigation systems, wastewater-to-agriculture reuse, and aquaponics. The country leads with cutting-edge agricultural practices. The desert farming practices have enabled Israel to transform arid land into a fruitful agriculture. Today Israel is a major supplier of high quality fruits and vegetables to Europe.
Indian-Israel roundtable on precision agriculture will be attended by 7 delegates from Tel Aviv University and Volcani Centre to apprise how India can leverage Israel technology.
Several products from Canada will be on display like animal feed mixers, bovine genetics, Canadian apples, Canadian flavours and ingredients, waste treatment technology and conversion of waste to fertilizers.
An attraction at the Canadian pavilion would be high quality Canadian food products like bottled canola oil, CattleBoyz BBQ sauces, peas, lentils and other grains. Frozen bovine embryos, which are exported from Canada to 20 countries, will be displayed for the first time at CII Agro Tech 2016.
Among other attractions to be showcased for the first time in International pavilion include vertical feed processors for livestock, environmental vertical mixers, Pig Feed (Sow & Nursery Feed) with Imported Formulation and Pure Bred & Cross Bred Animals.
