Life of ex-US President (45th) Donald Trump is quite deserving of the silver screen. The journey of Trump’s life, from being a real estate developer to a media figure — that includes making the reality series ‘The Apprentice’ — to assuming the office of the US President, to being attempted for assassination in July 2024,

is all about ups and downs. Whether it is his fame as a businessperson/mass media figure, his fame as a result of his many legal battles, or his behavior as a president, he has, for more than 30 years, been one of the most controversial individuals on the planet. Below, we present to you the top films and series featuring Donald Trump on Netflix, Hulu, Max, and Prime.
14. Active Measures (2018)

Jack Bryan’s ‘Active Measures’ documentary digs into the Russian meddling in the 2016 American election that resulted in Trump’s win, as determined by nearly all US intelligence agencies. Based on government interviews and archival footage, the movie investigates the suspected connections between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin uncovered by the FBI and the scandal involving Cambridge Analytica. The scandal entailed the consulting firm Cambridge Analytica, which utilized the private data of millions of Facebook users without their permission to help Trump’s presidential campaign. Ominous and startling, ‘Active Measures’ not only informs us of what has occurred but attempts to caution us from it occurring again, examining how such can be prevented. You can stream the film for free on Tubi.
13. Bad President (2021)

Param Gill’s fantasy comedy drama ‘Bad President’ is set in the premise that Donald Trump was elected as the US President in 2015 by making a pact with the Devil. Seeding his next target, Luther (the Devil) contacts Trump. He bullies him into his machinations, effectively making him gain a candidacy for the presidential candidacy in order to “make America great again.” Starring Eddie Griffin as Luther and Jeff Rector as Donald Trump, ‘Bad President’ is a straight-up whacky film that gives us a hyperbolic glimpse at the polarizing figure. You can stream the film on Prime.

The assault consisted of a gang of Trump supporters launching an attack on him following his defeat in the 2020 presidential elections just two months prior. The protesters sought to stop the ratification of Joe Biden’s win. The movie provides a clear glimpse into Trump’s changing of the presidency, which brought two impeachments (the second one being a consequence of the attack itself), political maneuvers, and social media manipulation during the course of four years of his presidency, and how it resulted in the attacks, resulting in the killing of 5 individuals, and injuring over 150. The documentary film also explores his desire to create his own world- i.e., his need to create and inhabit a reality of his own, even going so far as to compare him with Adolf Hitler himself. If you are curious about Donald Trump’s mind, ‘Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump’ has all the answers. You can watch the film on Prime.
4. The Fight (2020)

Eli Despres, Josh Kriegman, and Elyse Steinberg directed the documentary film ‘The Fight’, which discusses the numerous shocking actions performed by Trump during his reign by demonstrating how the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) opposed them and struggled for the freedom of not only American citizens but immigrants and individuals from other countries entering the US. The ACLU continues to battle against the Trump administration, which has undermined travel by Muslim nationals into the nation, enacted abortion legislation, and legislation excluding transgender individuals from applying to the military, and so on. Unvarnished in its portrayal of the plight of thousands of individuals, and how a group of individuals chose to challenge the government on its erroneous and inhumane actions, ‘The Fight’ deserves its name and a place on our list. You can stream it on Tubi.
3. Assault on Democracy: The Roots of Trump’s Insurrection (2021)

The documentary film places special emphasis on the January 6 US Capitol attacks (as discussed in ‘Trump: The Reckoning’). Trump has insults down to a science. Period. ‘Trump: The Art of the Insult,’ which is directed by Joel Gilbert, delves into how Trump took over the news and 2016 presidential elections through his political incorrectness and outbursts that labeled his adversaries negatively. As surprising as it may sound, the move enabled him to sell himself and gain entry into the hearts of middle-class Americans. The film demonstrates this action of the marketing mastermind in conferences, debates, rallies, and even on Twitter, providing us with a clear image of the man’s art of insult. The documentary is available for viewing on Prime.
1. Totally Under Control (2020)

Directed by Alex Gibney, Ophelia Harutyunyan, and Suzanne Hillinger, ‘Totally Under Control’ presents the Trump administration’s reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic in a candid way by pitting it against the way South Korea managed it. Released about 10 months into the first case being recorded, the movie goes into the failures in great detail, revealing malfunctioning test kits, communication issues between agencies, changed messages about the virus’ ill effects, and so on. By the time this film came out, 220,000 Americans had died, and in South Korea, it stood at 447. Though the creators do not point fingers directly at the Trump administration, they give us interviews of doctors and journalists to make the facts clear-cut and pointed, and yes, it does hurt. Saddening, infuriating, and filled with appalling facts, ‘Totally Under Control’ demonstrates how the entire situation was the complete opposite for the Trump government. You can watch the film on Tubi. Read More: Best Movies and Shows About US Presidents on Netflix
