75 Crore Surya Namaskar campaign organised at Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Chandigarh: Govt. College of Yoga Education and Health, Sector 23 A, Chandigarh organized a special campaign in relation to AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV under 75crore Surya namaskar which was an initiative of the Ministry of AYUSH.
Dr. Sapna Nanda, Principal of the college welcomed the Chief Guest Sh. Jagjit Singh, PCS, Director Higher Education, Guest of Honour Sh. Lakbhir Singh, Project Director RUSA, Dr. Nisha Aggarwal, Principal, PGGGC, Sector 42 and Dr. Poonam Aggarwal, Principal, GCCBA, Sector 50, Chandigarh Administration, Chandigarh in pursuit of spreading the awareness for the Suryanamaskar as a wholesome exercise.
The Principal while addressing the audience emphasized that one should bring about the change in their daily routine and add a Suryanamaskar as an essential practice.
The Chief Guest in his address spoke at large about the importance of Yoga and motivated everyone for continuing the practice of Suryanamaskar so that the mental and physical health benefits can be achieved by everyone for changing their lifestyle.
As part of the 75crore Surya Namaskara initiative launched by the Ministry of AYUSH, the public members and students of the college performed Sun Salutations to create a culture of fitness and promote healthy lifestyle through Yoga. The practice of Surya Namaskar was done alongwith the Mantras followed by a mesmerizing yoga demonstration.
The half yearly newsletter was released by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries. The Comparing was done by Mrs. Sarghi Kohli and Musical performance was given by Dr. Gunanidhi Sharma.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Roshan Lal who is a Nodal Officer of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan of the college and also the Project Director, Chandigarh for 75crore Suryanamaskar Campaign followed by the National Anthem. This function was attended by 200 people. This programme will be uploaded soon on the college YouTube Channel i.e. GCYEH.
