- FARMERS WON’T FACE UREA SHORTAGE, DEPUTY COMMISSIONER
NewZNew (Bathinda) : On the orders of Punjab government, the Bathinda district administration today conducted raids at several places in the district to detect the black marketing of urea. The Deputy Commissioner Dr Basant Garg checked the record of urea stocks stored in godowns to ascertain that stocks are not held back.
Giving information in this context today Deputy Commissioner said that to combat the black marketing the state government has passed strict instructions and following these instructions teams were constituted today that conducted the checking. The team members included ADC (general) Dr Sumit Jarangal, SDM Mr Damanjit Singh Maan and Mr Vishesh Sarangal IAS.
Dr Garg said that anyone indulging in unfair distribution of urea would not be spared. He added that farmers would not face any urea shortage. The Punjab government was making best of efforts to ensure that farmers do not face any problem regarding urea supply. He added that such surprise raids would continue in the future too.
ADC Dr Sumit Jarangal said that the in 10 to 15 percent cases the shopkeepers have not maintained details of the urea buyers, which is mandatory as per the government orders. He ordered all the traders and shopkeepers to maintain proper record of farmer buying urea so that the same could be verified, when needed.
