Speaking on the occasion, Sh. J.S. Bedi, Chairman, GJ-IMT said “It is indeed a great moment to remember the great visionary leader Sh. Rajiv Gandhi. He ushered India into an era of technology.
Our entrepreneurs should tap non-conventional sources of power. We should preserve natural resources and use new and renewable energy sources. Our students should propagate the message for using renewable energy sources as natural resources were not going to last long. He reminded that India has the capability to be world leader in renewable energy as the country made achievements in information technology and telecommunication revolution which was envisioned by Rajiv Gandhi at least 20 years before these actually began in this country”.
He further added that that “The technologies have been developed across the world, including India, to successfully utilize renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydropower, biomass and urban & industrial waste to produce power for the electricity grid. Akshay Urja is an effort for creating awareness about the development of renewable energy in our country.” At the end of the event He applauded the efforts of the staff & student in organizing this function to create awareness among the people about the renewable energy.
