NewZNew (Chandigarh) : The Senior Wing of Shishu Niketan Public School (SNPS 43), Sec 43-A, Chandigarh, celebrated, Jashn 2015 by showcasing breathtaking cultural presentations. The event saw proud parents enjoying each & every item put across by the dedicated senior students.
Dr Ashish Sharma, Manager, SNPS 43 said, “The effort at SNPS 43 is aimed at producing intelligent, law abiding citizens who can take their place in society with confidence. I am happy with the dedication and hard work put in by the performers and my staff in making a success of today’s event.”
The idea at the event was to show India’s rich cultural folk heritage. This was achieved by presenting different folk dances from across the length & breadth of India. The South was represented by performances of semi-classical and Tollywood dances, from the East Bihu and Chhau were enchanting. West was showcased with Lavni, Dandiya and Goan dances. The North put across Ghoomar, Dogri and UP Ki Nautanki.
Apart from this the students also used the stage to make adults aware of the problem being faced by children who have been involved in Child Labour. There was a touching Musical act depicting the situation of child labor in our society Another social problem of inflation was also highlighted. This was done by a One act play that showed the issue of how rising process was taking a toll on household budgets.
A Sufi Qawali performed and sung live showed the Sufiana culture and this had the audience listening and watching with rapt attention, as students showed their singing prowess. The Grand Finale was kept for the last item; yes a Bhangra performance by students of class XI – XII. Needless to say that this had the audience tapping their feet which was followed by a thunderous applause.
