Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test 2017 will be conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam on July 30 and the applicants are still awaiting the issuance of APSET hall tickets. Addressing the media, AU Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao said the hall tickets will be made available from July 22 onwards. The candidates will have to download and take the print out of APSET 2017 hall ticket from the official website www.apset.net.in before appearing for the test.

As much as 43,023 candidates have registered for Andhra Pradesh SET 2017 examination. The online application process commenced from March 30 and was due to end on May 10, but the last date was later extended to May 17. However, the applications with late fee payment remained open till June 21. In 2016, Andhra University conducted the test for the first time (after the State bifurcation) and total 56,889 candidates had applied for the test last year.

APSET 2017 will cover total 31 subjects, as the last year and will be conducted at multiple test centers across six regional centers – Visakhapatnam, Rajamahendravaram, Guntur, Nellore, Ananthapur and Tirupati. The candidates will have to compulsorily attempt 3 papers under APSET exam 2017, the detailed schedule + exam pattern is mentioned below:

Schedule of APSET 2017 Exam

Paper 1 will be common for all the candidates and will be set as bi-lingual (English & Telugu) question paper. Paper 2 & 3 will be bi-lingual for specific subjects (Commerce, Economics, Education, History, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology and Social Work). The question papers – Paper 3 of all other subjects (except Languages) will be in English only.

APSET is being conducted by AU for determining the eligibility of candidates to be appointed as Assistant Professors and Lecturers in State Universities and affiliated colleges. For eligibility, the candidates must ecure at least 40% aggregate marks in all 3 papers. For reserved categories (SC, ST, BC and PwD), the qualifying marks will be 35%.

For the first time, 6% of the appearing candidates would be declared qualified for eligibility for the posts of Assistant Professors and lecturers, based on the UGC’s new directions. Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G. Nageswara Rao said the candidates will be allowed to enter the exam hall till 15 minutes after the start of SET exam.

APSET 2017 hall ticket will be issued online for all the eligible applicants and hence the candidates will have to download their respective hall tickets from the official website only. The candidates must take the print out of APSET hall ticket once officially released so as to know their respective details, test venue, subject details and other important instructions.
