NewZNew (Mumbai) : The recently released Punjabi films- Ardaas and Love Punjab have completed the opening weekend journey at box office with excellent business. Both the films have received very positive reviews from critics as well as audience, the positive reactions of viewers have boosted up its hype and generated strong word of mouth for them. Not only in India but in overseas also, Ardaas and Love Punjab are getting overwhelmed response from audience and grossing terrific business there.
The singer cum actor turned director Gippy Grewal’s debut venture Ardaas is being praised by everyone because of its very crucial content and of course the intense performance by the entire cast. The film has done the business of total 4.50 crores* from India in weekend, that includes 1.30 crore* of Friday, 1.55 crore* of Saturday and 1.65 crore* of Sunday. The film reportedly raked the amount of 69.34 lacs from only UK in the opening weekend.
Whereas the adjacent one, Amrinder Gill starrer Love Punjab is also being liked by everyone in India as well as in overseas. The film has minted the amount of 4.40 crores* in the weekend domestically, that includes 1.20 crore* of Friday, 1.45 crore* of Saturday and 1.75 crore* of Sunday. In Australia & New Zealand, it has dominated the opening weekend collection record of Akshay Kumar’s Airlift and also of Bajirao Mastani.
Now both films have entered in the weekdays and asusual getting lesser response than weekend. On Monday, Ardaas and Love Punjab faced the drop of around 40% in their occupancy and minted the amount of 0.99 crore* and 1 crore* respectively as 4th day collection. Both seems to show steady business in coming days at box office and will set new records.
