NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh in association with Safe Hands Rehabilitation Society (SHRS) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plan is organizing special races for the special Children with special needs of the Society on 8thNovember at Sukhna Lake so that they can also become an important part of the social mainstream.
Thousands of people from tricity, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana etc are expected to participate in this race. The information was given today by Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group while launching the poster of the marathon in a press conference at Press club, Sector-27, Chandigarh.
The marathon would start from Sukhna Lake; Chandigarh at 8am. It has been categorized into different parts including Special Children Race-100 Metres, Mini Marathon-10.5 Km, Junior Race-4 Km and Fun Race for all-2.5 Km
Dr. Kataria while giving more details said that the race for special children would give an opportunity to display their talent and receive accolades for their efforts. It would enable the special children to feel accepted and appreciated.
Ms Neelu Sarin, Area Director Special Olympics Bharat Chandigarh speaking on the occasion said that the objective of the race is to bring together certain distinctive personalities from Punjabi Entertainment Industry and U.T Administration to facilitate the programme and by their mere presence extend their support to sportsman spirit of specially abled children and the common population who is participating in the race.
Mr. Bikramjeet Singh, President, SHRS while speaking on the occasion said that a total cash prize of Rs 31,000 would be distributed among the winners. Renowned Pollywood Star Nav Bajwa and Rana Ranbir would be the main attractions of the event.
SHRS is a Social Service and Welfare Society based at Chandigarh, dedicated to the Welfare Services of children suffering from Autism, Differently abled, Learning Disabilities, Hearing/Visual/Vocal impairments, Deaf & Mute & Physically Handicapped, etc. “SHRS” is a functioning organization working with the intend to enable the special children to achieve their optimal possible capabilities.
