A Story of Service, Leadership, and Excellence: The Inspiring Journey of Young Changemaker Vidushi Awasthi: Some individuals are remembered for their achievements, while others are remembered for the positive impact they create in the lives of people.
Vidushi Awasthi, a young social leader from Chandigarh, belongs to the latter category. Through her remarkable accomplishments in academics, leadership, sports, management, entrepreneurship, and community service, she has emerged as an inspiring role model for today’s youth.
Vidushi’s journey of service began during her school years at a convent institution, where activities such as donating books and clothes, visiting old-age homes, and spending time with underprivileged children instilled in her the values of empathy, compassion, and social responsibility. These early experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to community development.
While pursuing her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours in Management) at the Government College of Commerce and Business Administration, Sector-50, Chandigarh, Vidushi consistently excelled in academics and leadership. She earned several academic distinctions, including the Dean’s Merit Recognition, the College Colour Award for overall excellence, and recognition for her outstanding academic performance throughout her undergraduate journey.
Her passion for community service found its true expression through the National Service Scheme (NSS). As the NSS Girls’ President, she successfully led a team of more than 250 volunteers, spearheading impactful initiatives in healthcare, nutrition, environmental conservation, cleanliness, voter awareness, blood donation, COVID-19 vaccination, literacy and employment surveys, women empowerment, and rural community development. Under her leadership, the adopted village of Kajheri witnessed several sustainable community-driven interventions aimed at creating long-term social impact.
In recognition of her exceptional contribution to society, Vidushi was conferred with the prestigious NSS State Award (2025). She was also honoured with the Ati Vishisht Seva Samman (2025) for her outstanding grassroots leadership and community service. Earlier, in 2023, she proudly represented Chandigarh at the National Integration Camp, Ahmedabad, after being selected among the country’s finest NSS volunteers.
Beyond social service, Vidushi demonstrated exemplary leadership at the national level through AIESEC India, where she served as the National Lead Auditor, contributing to organizational excellence, governance, and leadership development across multiple chapters. She also co-founded EdDoc, a student-led career guidance initiative developed under the SRCC Entrepreneurship Development Programme, through which she mentored and guided young students towards informed career choices.
Her pursuit of excellence in management and strategic leadership led to her selection for the prestigious Summer Programme in Management at IIM Udaipur (2025), providing her with deeper exposure to business strategy, innovation, and sustainable leadership.
Alongside academics and community service, Vidushi has maintained an impressive sporting journey. As the Captain of the College Girls’ Badminton Team, she led her team with determination and represented at competitive levels, progressing up to the National Trials, reflecting her discipline, perseverance, and ability to excel across multiple domains.
Her multidimensional achievements have received recognition at the national level. She has been honoured with the Pride of Young Hindustan Award (2026), a National Honour (2026), and the prestigious Hindustan Youth Icon Award 2026, acknowledging her holistic excellence, leadership, and sustained contribution towards youth empowerment and nation-building.
Despite receiving numerous recognitions, Vidushi continues to remain actively engaged in community service through organizations such as the National Service Scheme (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India), Robin Hood Army, and several other nationally recognized social organizations. For her, leadership is not defined by titles or awards but by the ability to inspire others to serve with commitment and integrity.
Looking ahead, Vidushi envisions establishing a Youth Social Impact Accelerator dedicated to nurturing young changemakers and supporting scalable grassroots innovations in education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, and rural development. Her long-term vision is to build sustainable, community-led development models that can be replicated across the country, empowering thousands of young people to become catalysts for positive change.
Vidushi firmly believes that “True success is not measured by the awards we receive, but by the number of lives we are able to transform.” Her journey stands as a testament to the fact that determination, compassion, discipline, and selfless service can empower an individual to create meaningful and lasting impact.
Her story is not merely one of personal achievements; it is a powerful reminder to the youth of India that excellence in academics, leadership, sports, and social responsibility can coexist. Through purpose-driven action and unwavering dedication, Vidushi Awasthi continues to inspire a generation to dream bigger, lead with empathy, and contribute meaningfully towards building a stronger, more compassionate, and progressive nation.
