NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Mickey Singh, an advocate turned International Bhangra Choreographer & Bhangra Aerobics instructor, has got together with a team of young & dynamic persons to make a short film on Bhangra- ‘Charlie Singh’. The film which is 4 minutes in duration was formally unveiled & premiered for the media at Mickey Singh’s Fitness and Dance Studio Academy — Library of Sound & Dance (Studio X), in Chandigarh’s Sector 8.
Mickey who has acted in Two Punjabi Films & was the Semi Finalist in popular reality TV Show — India’s Got Talent’s Season 3, has designed the concept and acted as Charlie Singh in the film. “We have created a character ‘Charlie Singh’ and from now on I will be known as ‘Charlie Singh’. Charlie has Bhangra in his blood & wants to use the pulsating Punjabi dance form to create happiness in the World around him.” Said Mickey Singh.
The film is quite different as it does not have any dialogues and the medium of communication is certainly is music and ‘Bhangra’.
“This is the first in a series of short motivational films planned on dance, particularly Bhangra. We plan to make 6 such films before embarking on making a full scale movie on the theme of dance with the main character being ‘Charlie Singh’.” Said Neeraj Punj, Producer.
Abhey Singh, the Director, who also owns the Production Company – The Bleeding Nibs said, “The Bhangra Choreography is quite different and has been done by Jaspreet Singh Jassi & Mickey together. The aim and vision of ‘Charlie Singh’ is to promote Bhangra at a higher and international level.”
With an experience of 140 Bhangra stage shows in India as well as 24 different countries, with over 2 million views of his videos on the internet & sharing of the same by renowned singers like Preet Harpal,Kulwinder Billa,Ninja etc Mickey’s popularity is growing. Charlie Singh will present Mickey on a new Avtar which sure will be liked by all his ‘Bhangra’ fans the world over.
The production of short films on ‘Bhangra’ will go a long way in popularizing the energetic dance form across India and abroad, through the character of ‘Charlie Singh’.
