newznew (Chandigarh) : BJP candidates today assured the city residents they will carry forward the development done by them in the last one year. The campaign this time is giving an edge to the BJP candidates who are taking forward the development agenda to the people of Chandigarh.
Senior BJP leader Aarti Mehra, ex in-charge of Chandigarh Bharatiya Janata Party unit, and Latika Sharma, MLA, Kalka campaigned for different candidates from different wards and interacted with the residents and traders about their concerns.
The two senior leaders visited ward numbers 3, 4, 17 and 26 to support the candidates Ravi Kant Sharma, Sunita Dhawan, Asha Kumari Jaswal and Vinod Aggarwal respectively from their wards.
Sanjay Tandon, BJP Chandigarh State President inaugurated election office of Hardeep Singh, BJP-SAD candidate from ward 10 in Buterla. The local unit SAD president Jagjit Singh Kang and other BJP and SAD leaders were also present on the occasion.
Shakti Parkash Devshali, candidate from ward number 20 today campaigned in sector 29 and interacted with different women groups during an interaction with women voters in the ward. He was assured complete support by the women voters as they are content with present BJP councillor has worked remarkably for the development of the ward.
While campaigning for ward number 25, Jagtar Singh Dhillon interacted with the elderly today in Manimajra and assured them of better facilities for them. Her said, “The aged people here are anticipating better sitting facilities in the parks and walking tracks for the pedestrians. They have extended their support to BJP and I shall work dedicatedly to offer them better facilities.”
Ward number 3 candidate Ravi Kant Sharma today visited Shastri Market and residential area in sector 22 where he held meetings with the shopkeepers and interacted with the residents respectively. Kant said, “We are getting positive response from the voters. In fact most of the associations are extending their support to the party.”
Contestant from ward number 17, Asha Jaswal visited and interacted with the shopkeepers in Sadar Baazar today. While carrying out the campaign she assured better parking facility in the market area to facilitate consumers. She was accompanied by the star campaigners — Latika Sharma and Aarti Mehra, who interacted with small women’s group in the sector and assured development in the ward.
Rajesh Kumar Gupta campaigned in Ward 16 and went door to door in Sector 20C.
Ward no 4 candidate Sunita Dhawan interacted with the residents and the shopkeepers while carrying out the election campaign in the market sector 23. She was accompanied by Aarti Mehra who praised the work initiated by the party in the city and appealed them to support the party to keep up the good work.
Rajesh Kalia, candidate from ward number 7, while carrying forward his election campaign visited the EWS colony in Maloya and assured the residents to improve the drinking water and sewerage issues in the ward. The Uttrakhand community extended their support to the BJP candidate.
Ward number 12 candidate Chandrawati Shukla carried out door to door campaigning in her ward. She spoke to the residents about their problems and concerns to uplift the face of the ward.
While campaigning aggressively in the ward, Kanwarjeet Singh, candidate from ward number 14, interacted with different welfare associations during mohalla meetings.
