NewZNew (Chandigarh) : A film based on former PM Indira Gandhi assassination and a dramatic thriller ‘31st October 1984’ releases its official trailer. Magical Dreams Productions and Anand Motion Pictures presents a true story of a family, their journey against all odds for survival, the film is a close depiction of one of the days that changed the course of Indian history which affected millions in India and abroad. The film is directed by National award winning filmmaker Shivaji Lotan Patil.
The official trailer of the film which has been released shows a thriller about a Sikh family trapped in a riot-affected part of Delhi during the anti-Sikh riots following Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination on ‘31st October 1984’. The official trailer will make the audience witness this historic chapter in the form of a dramatic thriller. Film featuring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in a lead role. Other important cast includes Vineet Sharma, Deep Raj Rana, Gurjit Singh, Lakhwinder Singh, Aksshat Saluja, Nagesh Bhonsle. The music has been composed by Vijay Verma.
Writer-producer Harry Sachdeva and co-producer Anand Prakash said, “We are proud to bring this subject on the big screen and we are glad that after crossing all the hurdles. We wanted to have all shades of cinema, be it drama, emotion, and we hope that audience will like our work and appreciate it.”
Director Shivaji said, “Since the subject of 31st October has never been attempted before in Bollywood and when the makers decided to narrate the story of what transpired after Indira Gandhi’s assassination on the big screen it was a great opportunity for me to direct this subject”.
Also, Padma Shri Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan will sing a song for this film and make his comeback after 24 years.
The film’s subject has been attempted for the very first time in the mainstream cinema. Film ‘31st October 1984’ will be released worldwide on 7th October 2016.
