NewZNew (Chandigarh – Kulbir Singh Kalsi) : Today, to promote spirit of national unity and integration, Yuvsatta-an NGO organized a Harmony Walk for 50 Peace Club students of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9, Chandigarh, in which participating young girls started there day from Christ The King Cathedral Church, Sector 19 B and went on to Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sector 19 D. Next on their itinerary was visit to Jama Masjid, Sector 20A and Hare Kirshna Dham, Sector 36, this unique initiative ended with deliberations on India’s concept of unity in diversity Chaired by a retd. College Principal Gurdev Kaur at People’s Convention Centre, Sector 36C, Chandigarh.
At each stop of Church, Gurudwara, Mosque & Temple special brief lectures on their religion and unity of mankind was arranged by the organizers. At Church Father Pwlish addressed on theme of‘Christianity, Peace & Unity of mankind’. At Gurudwara it was Bhai Amrik Singh who explained the thought of ‘Ek Noor Te Sab Jag Upjaya’. At Jama Masjid, Moulana Mohd. Ajmal Khan, Imam told participants about how Islam prepares oneself to achieve peace within & around and later at Hare Krishna Dham, it was turn of Swami Nand Maharaj to share the tenents of Hinduism and Gita in particular.
At each place of worship students presented ‘Thank U’ cards to the preachers there and later while interacting on the learning’s Gurdev Kaur who chaired and Mr. Avtar Singh who co-chaired this session at People’s Convention Centre, Sector 36C, Chandigarh, students came out of the fact that keeping the spirit of humanity, service and love for mankind & nature alike are the greatest virtues which are needed to be inculcated and imbibed in young minds.
Sharing his concerns Pramod Sharma, Coordinator of Yuvsatta that in days to come they’ll take this programme christened as ‘1 India Campaign’ to all nooks and corners of tricity & beyond, as it’s time for all Indians to think, act and stand as ONE. It’s only when we all get united, INDIA & INDIANS can realize their full potential.
Appreciating the efforts and participation of young students Sr. Maria Swati AC, Principal of the School shared that “in the spirit of brotherhood and harmony, the students visited various places of worship and I am glad the they are learning the spirit of Communal Harmony at the right age. I thank all the members of Yuvsatta for helping us in our endeavors and encouraging the students. The staff of Carmel is always ready and dedicated towards the well being of students under their care.
