Cate Blanchett’s rise came in 1997 with her first big film in ‘Paradise Road’. But, her big break was as Queen Elizabeth I in ‘Elizabeth’ (1998). That role shot her to world fame, & got her the first of many top film award nods.

Blanchett’s skill lets her play lots of roles, from the light elf Galadriel in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ to the mixed-up rich lady in ‘Blue Jasmine’ (2013). With her ageless look & great skill, Blanchett still draws in crowds & leaves a big mark on film’s tale. Her fans have more to wait for, as she has a great list of new works to come!

1. Father, Mother, Sister, Brother (October 3, 2025)

Blanchett is in a big film by Jim Jarmusch. It’s a comedy drama named ‘Father, Mother, Sister, Brother.’ It’s made like a triptych & shows three tales. Each tale is set now but in a new land. ‘Father’ is in the Northeast U.S., ‘Mother’ in Dublin, Ireland, & ‘Sister Brother’ in Paris, France. Cate Blanchett Each tale talks of kin who meet up after long years. They face old fights & think on tough ties with folks far in heart. With Blanchett, the film stars Adam Driver, Sarah Greene, Tom Waits, Mayim Bialik, Charlotte Rampling, Vicky Krieps, & Indya Moore. The film is done with edits & will be out on October 3, 2025.

2. Alpha Gang (TBA)

Cate Blanchett will play the head of the ‘Alpha Gang,’ a film on space folk that come to take over. The film is by David & Nathan Zellner. David Zellner wrote it. The tale is of space folk on a quest to own Earth. Cate Blanchett They look like folk from the 1950s, mean & with big bikes, & are very hard. But then, they get hit by a big Earth thing: they start to feel. The film stars Léa Seydoux, Channing Tatum, Zoë Kravitz, Dave Bautista, Riley Keough, & Steven Yeun too. It is still in the works. ‘Alpha Gang’ does not yet have a date to come out.

3. Squid Game: America (TBA)

Cate Blanchett & Pom Klementieff will be in ‘Squid Game: America,’ the new show from Netflix. It is from the hit Korean show, also on Netflix. They will start the main shoot in Los Angeles in the first part of 2026. The show will keep the same world as the first one. It will show what the US folks go through.
