CGC Landran got accord recognition as SIRO

NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Chandigarh Group of Colleges, Landran got accord recognition as Scientific and Industrial Research Organization by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. DSIR carries out thorough evaluation of the R&D units at Landran campus and after ensured  compliance of  all the Government of India regulations  awarded this recognition .
On receiving this recognition CGC is entitled to all such administrative support from the DSIR which may be required to promote and advance scientific research activities. There will be 100% write off of revenue, capital expenditure on R&D. Also the college will be entitled to avail the custom/central excise duty exemption on the purchase of equipments, instruments, consumables etc.  In addition to this, CGC’s R&D unit recognized by DSIR is also eligible for receiving funds from other government departments and agencies such as DST, DBT, CSIR, ICAR, TDB where recognition to the in-house R&D Centre by DSIR is a requirement.
Students and faculty of CGC, Landran due to its research activities resulted in large number of international and national publications, patents, development of new technologies, development of new methods of analysis and testing etc. This recognition will work as narrow the bridge between industry and academia.
While speaking at the moment Chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu and President Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, CGC, congratulated the faculty, staff and students the achievement.
