Chandigarh girl shines in ‘Asian Dance Championship’: Aashna Bagri a class XI student of Sacred Heart School, Sector 26 Chandigarh has made tricity proud again by winning the 2nd runners up trophy, competing at the Salsa semi-pro category in ‘Asian Dance Championship’, held at Indian International Dance Congress (IIDC) Bengaluru.
Sixteen-years-old Aashna Bagri, continued her winning streak with a spectacular performance. Last year, she won the first position participating in the Salsa Amateur Solo category in ‘Asia Pacific Championship’ held in Bangkok.
And this year she competed in a category above her level, as she faced semi-professional competitors from across Asia.
Varun DS Rana, coach of Aashna Bagri told that Aashna has been training under him for 4- and-a-half years now. She has been the most promising dancer that he has come across. It’s all because of her dedication and hard work that she is achieving so much at the International level.
He added that she is practicing hard and all set to compete at Asia Pacific Dance Championship in November this year and then further will participate in World Salsa Summit in Miami USA in January 2020.
Aashna said, “I am feeling very happy and confident after participating in the event. All credit goes to my parents, who always have been a great support to me. And to my coach, who motivated me in the entire journey and has shown faith in me”.
Aashna has already emerged winner of Asian championship 2 times with a gold medal. She was 2nd runner up in the championship once with a bronze.
Her elated mother, Rekha Bagri said, “I am very happy with Aashna’s achievement and she is very passionate towards her work. She works hard every day and also takes workshops from International artists. The quest for learning in her; helps her enhance her performance”.
