NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Taking the mandate of Swachh Bharat forward, CII’s Young Indians (Yi) Chandigarh Tricity Chapter in partnership with India@75 Foundation organised a workshop on “Effective Hand Washing” today at Vivek High School, Chandigarh. The session aimed at spreading awareness about advantages and right process of proper hand washing. Around 650 students took advantage by learning about hand hygiene with the help of interaction with doctors, quiz and video presentations. The programme was conducted by the Professional Infection Control Team from Max Hospital, Mohali.
Mr Amit Chugh, Co-Chair, Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter said “The session, a part of National Volunteering Week on the theme of Swachh Bharat, was conducted with an objective of instilling hygiene in the kids and making them aware about the importance of cleanliness of hands.
On the success of initiative Ms Amanjot Kaur, Chair Yuva, Yi Chandigarh Tricity Chapter shared “Washing hands effectively is the most important and integral part of good health & hygiene. With the dream & goal of a ‘Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat’, we wanted to spread this message amongst the young generation. Looking at the enthusiastic response from the children, we plan to spread this initiative at other tricity schools as well.”
Under the National Volunteering Week, Yi & India@75 Foundation would also be organising Cleanliness Drive and Photography Competition at Rock garden.
