This is the 10th Post Office in Chandigarh and 28th in Punjab providing CBS facility.Post Office customers can have more convenient and easier small saving banking from any Post Office throughout India covered under CBS.
Clicking the first transaction from the Manimajra Post Office, Ms. Manisha Bansal Badal, Director Postal Services (HQ), Punjab Circle said that the CBS is a part of the prestigious IT(Information Technology) Modernization Project of the Department of Posts.She said that with CBS, customers will get all the facilities available in a CBS branch like instant transfer of accounts/ certificates from CBS to CBS post office and automatic posting of interest at the end of the month. Intimation of balance and transactions would be given to the customers through SMS. Internet Banking and Mobile Banking would also become available to the customers very soon.
Mr. Hari Mohan, Superintendent of Post Offices(SPOs), Chandigarh Division said that Manimajra Post Office is also one of the prestigious branches offering maximum premium services of India Post, such as Mobile Money Transfer, Instant Money Order, World Net Express, International Money Transfer Service ( for Western Union Money Transfer ; MoneyGram ), IFS MO ( Inward International Remittance ), Express Parcel ( Retail ) & e-Post, to name a few.
