NSS volunteer of DAV college, Dilshad Kaur Randhawa presently persuing M.Com has been selected for the republic day parade and camp. She is the only female volunteer from Chandigarh who received this honour. For this selection she participated in Pre-RD camp at CCSHAU, Hissar from 25th October to 3rd November 2017 and competed with 200 volunteers of this zone. Now she will be participating in the Republic Day Camp at Delhi from 31st Dec-31st Jan 2018, which will also be include the 26th January Parade at Raj path.
Dilshad is a very enthusiastic and active NSS volunteer for the last 5 yrs in the college. She is also a trained Giddha performer, who has been participating in Zonal and Inter-Zonal youth festivals of Panjab University, she also represented college cultural team in Nation Youth Festival at Guwahati in 2015. She has always been a leader in awareness drives and competitions of NSS in the college. She was chosen best volunteer of the college last year. After completing her post graduation she is keen on taking up teaching as a profession so that she can work towards upliftment of educational standards and health of females in the country. According to her women empowerment can very play important role in the progress of the nation.
