NewZNew (Chandigarh) : As a part of an ongoing reading program, Dikshant International School organized an Inter House Drama Competition at Yavanika Gardens, Sector 5, Panchkula. This annual event is aimed to provide young students a platform to express ideas and emotions that captivate them when they read books.
Mr. Shovon Chowdhury, Delhi-based amateur humourist and renowned author graced the occasion as a Chief Guest.
The students of four houses of the school in competition with each other presented a collage of theatrical performances adapted from some of the famous books. Directed, designed and acted by students, the plays presented in the competition were ‘The festival of Eid’ by Premchand, ‘The Speckled Band’ by Sherlock Holmes, ‘Romeo Juliet’ by William Shakespeare and ‘The post office’ by Rabindranath Tagore. The performances were well appreciated by the audiences.
Mr Parvesh Sethi who is the veteran of over six decades in theatre, Feature Writer Ms Jagmeet Thind Joy and master mariner Atul Sarin were judges of the competition.
