Company promotes ‘Getting to Zero’ campaign with checkup camps for site workers
NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : In line with its ideology of welfare for all, Emaar MGF Land Ltd, India’s leading real estate developer, reinforced its commitment to World Health Organization (WHO)’s ‘Getting to ZERO’ campaign by celebrating ‘World AIDS Day 2015’ with the construction workers at its project sites in Gurgaon and Mohali. Various activities were organized to create awareness amongst labourers, employees and people in the immediate vicinity about HIV/AIDS and the preventive measures to control its spread.
As per WHO guidelines, World AIDS Day is celebrated globally on 1st December every year with the multi-year theme (for 2011-2015): “Getting to Zero: Zero new HIV infections, Zero discrimination and Zero AIDS-related deaths”.
To mark the occasion this year, Emaar MGF organized AIDS awareness and education sessions, and health check-up camps, for labourers at its various project sites such as Mohali Hills in Mohali, and Capital Towers, Marbella, Palm Garden, Imperial Garden, Digital Greens in Gurgaon. To ensure the success of these campaigns, the company representatives also conducted HIV/AIDS awareness marches from the project sites to respective labour colonies and the neighbourhood. These initiatives were organized in collaboration with National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), and doctors from Haryana Government Aids Awareness Program, Samarth NGO, and local hospitals.
The event saw active participation by engaged and enthusiastic site workers in multiple activities like Slogan, Poster & Banner making, Competitions and Quiz on AIDS awareness and safety. Prizes were also given to best Health, Safety and Environment conscious performers amongst site staff and workers. The day-long campaign concluded with distribution of sweets and contraceptives, promoting the message of healthy living.
