Omaxe will develop the leased 2 lakh sq. ft. as “Dragon Mart” for Chinese companies that will open and run retail outlets, offices, representative offices, exhibition centres and other such facilities.
A first-of-its-kind concept in India, Dragon Mart will be a hub of Chinese manufacturers and retailers exploring and selling their products on both B2B and B2C platform. It will also open avenues for India manufacturers and suppliers to access their products and services. The setting up of Chinese units in India will give a big boost to employment in the country. The delegation also committed to invest around $1 billion in India in various sectors in the next 5 years.

Currently FDI from China is insignificant ($888 million between April 2000 and Feb 2015) and India’s export to China stood at $ 12 billion while imports at $60.4 billion in 2014-15. The Prime Minister is on a three day visit to China starting Thursday where deals worth $10 billion are expected to be signed between the two countries. Last year, the Chinese President visited India and committed $20 billion over five year period.
