NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Godrej Properties Ltd. (GPL), the real estate development arm of the Godrej Group is set to host the fifth edition of Godrej Properties Golf Challenge (GPGC). This year’s edition tees off at Bombay Presidency Golf Club, Mumbai on Saturday, November 21st, the first of the new venues added to this year’s itinerary.
In line with the successful format that was adopted for the fourth edition, the tournament will consist of seven city rounds, including stop overs at two new locations. As was the case last year, the tournament will once again culminate in an International Finals showdown in Bangkok, where the respective winners from each city will ‘Swing For Glory’.
In a sign of the event’s burgeoning popularity, season five of the GPGC is set to witness a total participation of over 1000 golfers. The Qutab Golf Course in Delhi stages round two on the 28th of November. Round three continues at the Bangalore Golf Club on the 4th of December, with Kalhaar Blues and Greens, playing host for the first time, just 2 days later on the 6th of December in Ahmedabad. ‘Driving’ towards the latter half of the tournament, round five takes place at Classic Golf Resort in Gurgaon on 13th of December 2015, followed with round six at the picturesque Oxford Golf and Country Club on the 19th of December. The regional rounds culminate in Chennai on the 9th of January which takes place at the Madras Gymkhana Club.
The tournament will once again follow the Stableford Points System across two handicap categories: 0-12 & 13-24 (3/4 Nett Stableford Points). Any member of a participating club can play in the tournament provided they have a valid handicap from that club. The golfer with best gross score from each city will qualify for the International Finals scheduled to take place from 22nd to 24th, January in Bangkok.
Professional Management Group will be the event managers and will be responsible for the entire functioning of the tournament.
