newznew (Chandigarh) : Goodricke Group Limited, the leading producer of tea in India today announced the inauguration of a new factory unit in Rajpura. CTC (Crush, tear, curl) range of teas, which make up 80% of its total business will be packed in this new unit.

Spread across an area of 27432 sqft, it is a state-of-the-art factory located in the industrial town of Rajpura. The factory also enjoys locational advantage since Rajpura is equidistant from two big North Indian cities Delhi and Amritsar on the National Highway NH-1. The daily production capacity of the unit is 10 tons of packaged tea.

Mr.A.N.Singh, the Managing Director at Goodricke Group Limited said, “ Our new factory in Rajpura will have stellar standards of factory compliances. The blending and packing machinery is modern and compliant to all statutory standards.”

Mr. Vikram Singh Gulia, the Head of Packet Tea Division at Goodricke Group Limited said, “ Since Rajpura is central to Himachal, Haryana and Punjab where we sell in abundance, our sale in these states alone contribute to 20% of our total sales. Being in close proximity to the market makes logistical sense and benefits us to meet the demand quickly and helps us to provide fresher teas to the consumer, while making the packing process more economical.

Mr. Rajeshwar Tiwari, the Production Head at Rajpura unit mentioned, “Our blending will be optimally perfect suiting the market tastes   due to close proximity and regular feedback from consumers. We will be equipped to address consumer preferences better and with more accuracy and expertise.”
