Haryana CM inaugurated Grain, Vegetable and Fodder Market in Ambala Cantonment

Chandigarh, Oct 12 – The market has been set up by Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board on over 32 acres of area at a cost of Rs 26.57 crore. The new market has 121 shops and booths in Grain Market, 81 shops and booths in Vegetable Market and seven shops and booths in Fodder Market along with common platform, individual platform, parking, toilets, retailer shed and other necessary facilities.

The Chief Minister said that e-Tendering service has been started in 37 mandis of the State and the service would be made available in all mandis of the state in a phased manner. He said that with this system, farmers would be able to connect with all such mandis at national level and could get good price for their produce. He said that along with Ambala Cantonment, all such mandis which are located at crowded places, were being transferred out of cities. He said that grievances of farmers were also being redressed on priority basis. Also, the State Government has increased the moisture content in paddy from 17 per cent to a maximum limit of 22 per cent with imposing a value cut as per the percentage of the moisture.

While lashing out the opposition parties which had been indulged in politics based on casteism and regionalism, he said that the present State Government has carried out overall development in the state without any discrimination in its two years tenure. He said that new projects and schemes would be started in the Golden Jubilee Year for the development of the State. He said that the year would be celebrated for the welfare of people. He said that out of 90 assembly constituencies in the state, so far public meetings had been organised in 76 assembly constituencies and funds have been provided for development.

Expressing gratitude towards the Chief Minister for unprecedented development of Ambala Cantonment, Health and Sports Affairs Minister, Mr. Anil Vij said that Ambala being the most developed city of the state since ancient times, the previous State Governments during last 50 years had given assurance for the development of the area. He said that with the efforts of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal in the last two years, various projects have been undertaken including construction of new hospital buildings in Ambala Cantonment at a cost of Rs 40 crore, international level sports stadia at a cost of Rs 50 crore, setting up of memorial in the memory of martyrs of 1857 revolution, setting up of Regional Science Centre at a cost of Rs 15 crore and approval have been given to various other big projects.

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr. Nayab Singh Saini and Member of Parliament, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria were also present on this occasion.
