NewZNew (S A S Nagar) : Students of the The Holy Wonders Smart school rejoiced the spirit of Independence in a grand function that marked the concluding of the weeklong activities and festivities in the school. To sensitize the students about the values and importance of the Independence Day, a number of activities were organized in the school. Children made beautiful flags with the help of their teachers. They raised slogans “Jai Hind” and “Vande Matram” while holding their self made flags. Teachers told the students about the significance of the flag. The students also made the tri-coloured bands. On the concluding function the students presented a cultural bonanza of dances and folk songs from the different states of India.

Speaking on the occasion Principal  Premjit Grover said that the activities and workshops were a practical way to approach the young minds and relate them to the spirit of Nationalism. She said at this occasion that We should never forget the supreme sacrifice of our leaders. We owe them for the freedom that we enjoy today. Independence Day reminds us that we have still not achieved what our freedom fighters wanted us to do. We should pledge to make India free from social ills like poverty, corruption and illiteracy.
