Ronnie Screwvala besides other business visionaries inspired budding entrepreneurs

Over 1000 entrepreneurs, more than 50 investors and above 15 mentors present on a single platform

NewZNew (Panchkula) : Startup Jalsa, a three-day unique event bringing entrepreneurs, mentors and investors on a single platform started off with resounding success at Panchkula. More than one thousand entrepreneurs from across the country thronged the event to get mentored from industry leaders and acquaint themselves with investors from across the world.

Mr. Depinder Singh Dhesi, Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana officially inaugurated the event and Mr. Vivek Atray, Deputy Commissioner; Panchkula was also present at the event.   Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Dhesi said, “One had been hearing of Silicon Valley and venture capitalists playing an instrumental role in business growth. With this kind of event happening around in India, we are heading towards an era, which will enable an ecosystem for startups to evolve and grow within the system.”

“We are delighted that this event is happening in Chandigarh, as besides being an educational hub of the region, Chandigarh is fast emerging as an industrial destination. State of government of Haryana, under the able leadership and guidance of central government is committed to make it easier to do business, further commented Mr. Dhesi

Appropriately named Startup Jalsa, it is the biggest event of this nature happening in Tricity (Panchkula). Themed as ‘Ideate-Inspire-Invest’, the idea of the event is to help budding entrepreneurs polish their business ideas and put them in personal contact with serious investors.

The day one began with an interactive session with Mr. Pankaj Jain from 500 startups, a Silicon Valley based first stage investors with a network of around 200 mentors. After brief introduction about their operation, Mr. Jain left the stage open for entrepreneurs to clear their doubts and ask questions on funding.

Mr. Nitin Narang, Festival Director said, “The idea about holding such event came to my mind after going through grueling session finding investor for my business venture. There are many interactive session, seminars and conference dealing with startup but there was no single platform where in entrepreneurs could get mentored and pitch their ideas to investors.” It took us one and half years to bring into shape this event from ideation stage but it was worth and we are very delighted with final outcome, shared Mr. Narang further.

The inaugural day ended with an interactive, lively session with Mr. Ronnie Screwvala, founder UTV and Unilazer Ventures. The man behind successful ventures like Lenskart, Mr. Screwvala has recently come up with a book on entrepreneurs – Dream with your eyes open.  A lively session with budding entrepreneurs, he gave an insight on business ecosystem inspired them to constantly innovate and strive from perfection.
