NewZNew (Chandigarh) : After the success of his book ‘What A Loser!’, Pankaj Dubey is back with another. He has titled it ‘Ishqiyapa’. The book was released by Mr Mitul Dikshit, Chairman, Adab Foundation.
The Publishers of the book are Penguin Publishers. The catchy title ‘Ishqiyapa’ makes a suggestion about the contents of the story of the book. While no one was willing to share the entire contents of the book but it revolves around two love birds with divergent dreams.
“Ishqiyapa-To Hell With Love depicts the pattern of change love stories have acquired with the advent of digital era. Love is no more blind. It now has vision & new means of expression.” Said Pankaj Dubey at the book release event.
Pankaj did not share details of the story but gave a synopsis of the same to journalists. Ishqiyapa’s story revolves around an ill- tempered daughter of an MLA and a young man Lallan who has dreams of becoming a business tycoon. In a nutshell Love was not what both of them were looking for and yet they found it. Sweety, the loudmouthed daughter of a local MLA, dreams of becoming a famous pop diva like Britney Spears.
Lallan is Patna’s ‘Ambani in making’. He wants to start a ‘kidnapping insurance’ business. Their flickering dreams ignite like a flame when they meet! Sweety takes him to meet her father Kali Pandey, the in-house expert on kidnapping. And, in return, Lallan decides to help her fulfill her passion. Somewhere along the way, the plan does not remain simple and sweet! Set in Patna and Bombay, this serpentine comedy of errors is the story of two young lovers caught in the Ishqiyapa of love and life.

It is noteworthy that the author, Pankaj Dubey is a Novelist, Screenwriter and a filmmaker based out of Mumbai. He started his career from the BBC World Service in London as a Broadcaster and then moved on to different media organisations in England and in India including Channel 7 (now IBN7) and TV Today Group in New Delhi. Prior to moving to Mumbai Film Industry Pankaj Dubey has curated more than 50 film festivals across India and has the distinction of getting ‘Youth Icon Award for Social Entrepreneurship’ for initiating India’s first street film festival for children in slums and villages called Sadak Chhaap Film Festival. A law graduate from Delhi University Pankaj also has a Masters’ Degree in Applied Communications from Coventry University in West Midlands, England.
