June 21 declared as International Yoga Day

NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Haryana Health and Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Mr Anil Vij today expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi for getting June 21 declared as International Yoga Day.

internationaldayofyoga-blog-420x236Mr Vij said that the declaration of June 21 as International Yoga Day has given Yoga international recognition. He called it an achievement for India on world level that for the first time, any Prime Minister presented our old culture of Yoga strongly before the world. As a result, 175 countries of the world have agreed to make Yoga an important part of their life thus United Nations accepted the proposal of celebrating June 21 as International Yoga Day.

The Health Minister said that by adopting Yoga one can be physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. Yoga enables one to spiritually energies himself and its results can be visibly seen on those who practice Yoga. The State Government has decided to include Yoga in its medical system, which would help in development of Yoga and Naturopathy.

Mr Vij said that the State Government would establish a conference and training hall for Yoga and Naturopathy in Institute of Indian System of Medicine and Research (IISMR) at Panchkula. Besides this, there is also a proposal to set up yoga and naturopathy hospital here.

He said that the State Government is committed to provide better healthcare facilities to every person. For providing complete healthcare benefits under National Health Mission, appointment of Yoga specialists in all district hospitals is being considered who would provide training to people, he added.
