With this facility the residents of Sirsa and Fatehabad are now not required to travel to metro cities for availing this medical consultation.

To mark the tie up , renowned Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Manuj Wadhwa, Director and Head, Max Elite Institute of Orthopedics and Joint Replacement at MSSH consulted patients at Neeraj Hospital today. However he will be conducting the hip and knee OPD in Sirsa and Fatehabad every month in coming time.

Speaking at launch, Dr. Wadhwa said that it would take 200 bones and 60 muscles for the human body to take one single step. It was crucial to ensure minimal wear and tear of each of these muscles and bones. Weak bones have the potential to create irreversible damage to an individual’s professional and personal output and our endeavour was for citizens to attain optimal bone health. Unfortunately, arthritis has become a global epidemic which was affecting demographics across all age groups.”

We have recently launched the 3-D Digital Orthopedic Suite from Brain Lab Germany with state-of-the-art technology combined with best expertise and high-end technologies to provide complete healthcare solutions for all kinds of bone, muscle and joint problems. We offered painless joint replacements, stitchless surgery and joint replacements that last a lifetime, informed Dr Wadhwa.

There was high incidence of osteoarthritis of knees in Haryana. The patients would usually come at a debilitating stage and try to postpone a joint reconstruction or replacement to the last stage possible when all other methods prove to be ineffective. “The incidence of clinically significant knee osteoarthritis which involved pain, swelling, limitation of function and deformity in the advanced stage were very high among old people in Haryana .

The reasons for this were obesity, lack of balanced diet and regular exercise, not enough exposure to sunlight and increase in smoking. Osteoarthritis was more common in women because post-menopause women have weaker bones as compared to men of their age as a result of the condition called osteoporosis, which was known porous bones.”

Mr. Dogra hoped that tie up with Dr Neeraj Hospital would benefit Sirsa and adjoining cities also. Dr Chaudhary said that association with renowned hospital like MSSH would certainly improve medical expertise in Sirsa area considerably.
