NewZNew (Chandigarh) : Mrs. Poonam Sharma, Mayor of Chandigarh accompanied by Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Chairperson, Women Empower Committee, MC, Chandigarh distributed tool kits to 125 candidates who got training under the programme of Certificate Course in Financial Accounting, Tally and Communication skills being organized by Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development on behalf of Municipal Corporation Chandigarh under the Employment through Skill Training & Placement (ES&P) component of National Urban Livelihoods Mission (NULM). The programme was held in the Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38 today evening.
She conveyed her blessings to the trainees and wished them success in their careers. She encouraged the participants of the training programme to give in their best efforts and highlighted the increased demand of this skill in the job market. She said that she extend every possible help to the trainees for getting jobs in their respective fields.
She said that the EST&P has been launched by the Govt. of India to increase the income of urban poor through structured market oriented certified course that can provide salaried employment and / or self employment opportunity which will eventually lead to better living standards and alleviation of urban poverty on a sustainable basis.
Mr. Paramjit Singh, Principal Consultant, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development Chandigarh informed that training for 200 candidates from Chandigarh shall be organized by the centre and that all candidates shall be provided placement opportunities post the completion of the training programme. He also shared that apart from training in Financial Accounting, computer applications, Office Management inputs shall be provided in developing the soft and communication skills.
